Partners in Flight: Minnesota National Guard and Croatian Armed Forces collaborate through State Partnership Program

PLESO AIR BASE, CROATIA – “It always feels good to help a friend,” said U.S. Army Sgt. Nathan Buck, a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter technical inspector with the Minnesota National Guard’s Bravo Company, 834th Aviation Support Battalion. Buck was one of seven Minnesota crew chiefs sent to Croatia as part of a mission to advise and assist the Croatian Armed Forces as they integrated UH-60M Black Hawks into their Air Force.
Minnesota Guardsmen provide support to 59th Presidential Inauguration

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Nearly 750 Minnesota National Guard Soldiers and Airmen answered the call to support local and federal law enforcement agencies in the security of the 59th Presidential Inauguration earlier this week.
“National security events, like the inauguration, require rotational support from across the country to be successful,” said U.S. Army Col. Scott Rohweder, Minnesota National Guard director of operations.

SOUTHWEST ASIA —In the days following the transfer of authority ceremony, the 34th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade was notified that Iran had launched several theater ballistic missiles targeting Coalition bases housing U.S. personnel at multiple bases in Iraq. Using aircraft to assist in the rapid reduction of personnel at the Joint Operations Command – Iraq and the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center, the Soldiers of the 34th ECAB acted swiftly to preserve life and property while continuing to support their new mission.
