I was selected to be the Public Affairs representative for a high profile NATO ceremony between the U.S. Department of Defense to the Croatian Armed Forces. The event was held at Pleaso Air Base, Croatia and I had to work alongside the U.S. Croatian Embassy and Croatia Air Force Public Affairs.
RED DEVILS DEPLOYED
October 2019
I deployed for the first time in 2019 as the Public Affairs NCO for the 34th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade to Iraq and Kuwait for 353 days of active duty service. I earned the Combat Action Badge and a Keith L. Ware Communications award during this tour of duty.
MINNESOTA REMEMBERS 9/11

I led a team of five partner agencies on the communication plan for the 20th anniversary of 9/11, which included producing a documentary short that went on to be nominated for a National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences: Upper Midwest Chapter Emmy!

Yes, that is me wearing Norwegian Home Guard military issued gear on skis with a camera. Yes, I love my job. The Minnesota National Guard partners with Norway and every year they exchange troops for two weeks of cultural training that I documented in 2019.

I joined the National Guard during college to pay for my education. Finding a fulltime job and a love of service led me to change my military occupation specialty to Public Affairs Specialist. Thus, I attended the prestigious Defense Information School for Broadcast Journalism in Maryland.

Sanguine means "hopeful, in especially dark or trying times". After college, while on the hunt for a fulltime job, this was my state of being most days. Driven to tell stories, I began a video production company with the inaugural project being a documentary for the Minnesota Dept. of Human Services.

Here, I learned to the fullest. I earned two Bachelor degrees in Marketing Communications and Digital Film & Television with Honors, studied abroad to Turkey and Germany, interned with the Office of Student Involvement, and served as the Executive Producer for the campus TV show, Focus on U.
THE DAM DECISION
December 2015
My senior project in college was a documentary, The Dam Decision, detailing the pros and cons of dam removal in my small town of River Falls, WI. The film was screened at the local movie theater, won a regional award, and continues to lead the environmental discussion today.
